金沢市足軽資料館

下級武士である足軽の生活ぶりを伝える文化施設だ。 1997年、金沢市内にあった清水家と高西家の足軽屋敷合計2棟を現在の場所に移築して開設された。 入り口から見て、手前の右側にあるのが清水家で、奥の左側にあるのが高西家。 ※何と！　高西家の屋敷は1994年まで、清水家の屋敷は1990年まで、住居として何百年もの間使用されていた！ 木造平屋建てで、板葺き屋根に石を乗せた典型的な足軽の家の内部には、足軽の職務についてや日常生活についての展示品や解説文章がある。 こちらも入場料金は無料、金沢市は太っ腹だ！

チャータードビル

1938年竣工のビルで、元々はチャータード銀行(イギリス)の支店だった。 大理石をふんだんに使った吹き抜けフロアなど豪奢な装飾が特徴的だ。 現在はカフェなどが入っている。

時の鐘

蔵造りの町並みの中にある鐘撞堂で、川越のシンボル的な存在だ。 木造の三層構造で、櫓の高さは約16m。 1630年頃の創建以来3回も焼失しているが、その都度再建されている。 現在のものは1893年の大火災の翌年に再建された4代目だ。 今でも1日に1日4回(6時、12時、15時、18時)、趣深い音色で鐘が鳴っている。

川越一番街

川越一番街は、約400mの風情がある通りで、川越で最も賑わうエリアだ。 江戸時代(1603〜1868年)後期から明治時代(1868〜1912年)にかけて建てられた30棟余りの蔵造りの建物が立ち並んでいる。 ※通りが歩行者専用となっておらず双方向に車が通るのでちょっと落ち着かないのが難点。 かつて東京に多数あった蔵造りの建物は、関東大震災 (1923年)や第二次世界大戦時のアメリカ軍による空襲によって失われてしまったため、川越の蔵造りの町並みはより一層重要な歴史的遺産となっている。

Innoshima navy castle

This castle was built rather recently in 1983. The inside is an archives center that has arms and armor relating to the Murakami navy on display.

Suganuma gassho-zukuri village

Surrounded by steep mountains and the Shogawa River, it is a small village measuring approximately 230 meters from north to south and 240 meters from east to west, with nine gassho-zukuri houses remaining. Of these, two were built at the end of the Edo period (1603-1868), and seven were built after the Meiji period (1868-1912).

旧居留地38番館

1929年竣工のビルで、アメリカン・ルネッサンス様式の重厚なデザインが特徴的だ。 元々はシティバンク(アメリカ)の神戸支店だった。 現在は隣接する「大丸神戸店」の別館として営業をしており、ハイブランドのショップやカフェが入っている。

Former Chinese Consulate (Ijinkan on the top of the hill)

The Former Chinese Consulate is the only eastern-style building of the Ijinkan homes. The inside is furnished with various art pieces dating back between the Ming and Qing dynasties of China.

Ainokura Folklore Museum

The 150-year-old gassho-zukuri private house has been converted into a museum, where Gokayama’s Edo period farming tools and daily life utensils are on display. In the attic, visitors can observe the framework and interior structure of the gassho-zukuri up close.

旧神戸居留地十五番館

1880年に竣工されたこのエリア最古の建築物で、元々は米国領事館だった。 内部にはおしゃれなカフェもある。

志摩

1820年に建てられた格式の高いお茶屋で、建設当時の姿のままに残っている貴重な存在であるため、日本の重要文化財に指定されている。 お茶屋特有の繊細で優美な造りとなっており、旦那衆が遊びを楽しんだ座敷、四季折々の表情を見せる坪庭などが公開されている。 1階奥の茶室「寒村庵」では、庭を見ながら抹茶(※季節の生菓子付き700円、干菓子付き500円)を楽しむことが出来る。 ※200円の違いなので、生菓子を頼んだほうが良い。 撮影はスマートフォンでのみ可能。

シップ神戸海岸ビル

1918年竣工のビルで、1995年の阪神大震災で一度全壊したが、1998年に再建された。 その際、5Fから上は現代的なオフィスビルとして建設され、4Fまでのレトロビルと融合している姿が面白い。

三町

江戸時代の古い商家などの面影が残る町並みで、三町と八幡町、大新町は重要伝統的建造物群保存地区に選定されている。 江戸時代の趣を残す美しく重厚な町並み 狭い通りを挟んで、江戸時代後期～明治時代にかけての町家建築が並ぶノスタルジックなエリア。 建物をそのまま利用した土産物店、カフェ、ショップなどがあり、観光客で賑わう高山の観光名所。 町家を利用した良い雰囲気のカフェが多い。 和雑貨などかわいい小物が並ぶ雑貨店も多く、充実している。   三町は、高山市中心部に位置しており、「上一之町・上二之町・上三之町・下一之町・下二之町・下三之町」という6つの町で構成されている。 もっともにぎわうのは、上三之町周辺。 みやげ店やカフェなどが並び、日中は多くの観光客が行き交う。 それに対して、安川通りから北の下一之町、下二之町、下三之町は比較的静かで、のんびり散策するのに最適。
