This facility allows visitors to observe the production process of Oshima tsumugi and to experience mud-dyeing using handkerchiefs, T-shirts, and other items.
Located in a vast subtropical garden of about 50,000 m2, it also has a store selling Oshima silk kimonos and other goods.
A guided tour of the Oshima tsumugi production process is offered about once an hour and takes about 30 minutes. The fee is 550 yen, which is included in the park entrance fee.
Mud-dyeing tours are offered five times a day and last 1.5 to 2 hours.
Fees include 1,320 yen for a small handkerchief and 2,750 yen for a T-shirt.
