Senkōji Park stretches from the top of 144-meter-high Senkōji Mountain to the mid-slope.
From the observatory in the park, visitors can enjoy beautiful views of the city of Onomichi, the Seto Inland Sea, and the islands, with the evening view being particularly spectacular.
On a clear day, the mountains of Shikoku can be seen in the distance.
The area is also famous for its cherry blossoms and has been selected as one of the “top 100 sakura spots in Japan”.
It is also famous for azaleas and wisteria flowers.
Perhaps because it is a beautiful and romantic place, it is one of the four “holy places for lovers” in Hiroshima.
