Gassho-no-yado Rihen

Built over 400 years ago, it is the oldest gassho-zukuri building among the guest houses in Shirakawa-go. Located near the main street of Shirakawa-go, it is convenient for sightseeing. Home-grown vegetables and local river fish are served for dinner.

高山陣屋

サムライ映画の大掛かりなセットのように見えてしまう高山陣屋は、江戸幕府(1603〜1868年)の代官所の遺構で、敷地面積は約10,000㎡。かつて郡代所・代官所は日本全国で六十数か所あったが、その中で高山陣屋のみ主要な建物が現存している。江戸時代の建築技術、文化、生活様式、役所業務などを知ることができる貴重な史跡として高く評価されており、「ミシュラン・グリーンガイド・ジャポン」でも上から二番目の「二つ星」に位置付けられている。

Tenshukaku Observatory

This is not a lookout located inside the castle. Instead, it is an observation deck next to a local restaurant that has the atmosphere of a mountain hut. It is a little higher than the Ogimachi Castle Ruins Observation Deck, so the view is better. Also, there is a shuttle bus stop here.

レストランル・ミディ

飛騨牛をフレンチテイストで味わうことが出来るレストラン。オーナーシェフの田上氏は、フランスの三つ星レストランなどで修行を積んだ後、独立してこの店を開いた。この店は、ステーキ肉には高い等級の飛騨牛のみを仕入れ、それを一番美味しい状態になるまで約2週間かけて熟成させている。ステーキ以外にも、飛騨牛の肉の特性を活かしたメニューや、地元の食材を使ったメニューが豊富に揃う。ランチ時には、セットメニューが2,000円程度からあり、ステーキセットも4,000円程度で楽しむことが出来る。店のお洒落な内外観は、パリにあるビストロを彷彿させる感じだ。
