カフェ青

高山の人気雑貨店である「青」が運営する町屋カフェ。 1868年に建てられた歴史ある建物を店舗としており、広々とした和の空間はセンス良くまとまっている。 季節のフルーツを使ったスイーツなど、素材は地元産のものが中心。 可能であれば、綺麗な庭園を眺めることの出来る窓辺の席をゲットすべし。

日下部民藝館

かつて高山で有数の豪商だった日下部家が1879年に建てた豪邸で、高山の町屋建築の“集大成的な存在”。 長さ約13m の梁などを使って組み上げた吹き抜けなど、力強く豪壮な構造が特徴的だ。 奥の土蔵が展示室になっており、5,000点ある美術品や民芸品などの収集品が順次公開されている。 その他、江戸時代(1603〜1868年)・後期と明治時代(1868年〜1912年)の生活用具なども展示されている。 1階中央部にある休憩所では、お茶と煎餅をいただける(※無料)。 吉島家住宅の南隣にある。
