Among many Okonomiyaki restaurants that gather in Hiroshima, Yagenbori Hasshois known for having the reputation of “the most delicious” okonomiyaki restaurant.
It is a Michelin awarded Bib Gourmand restaurant.
It uses a dough with a pint of sweetness to create cake wheat, and on top of it is a strictly selected cabbage with the best quality, shredded and placed on top of the dough, and steamed well in order to bring out the sweetness of the ingredients.
Afterwards, it is joined with scorched crispy noodles and soft-boiled eggs, and finally pressed from the top to evaporate the moisture.
The recommended dish is the Soba Nikutama that most customers order, but there are also plentiful side dishes including oysters, scallops and other seasonal ingredients on the menu, and you can enjoy the local food of Hiroshima by ordering them while you wait for your okonomiyaki(roughly 20–30 minutes).
The best time to visit is around 17:00 when the first group of customers that have entered when the restaurant starts at 16:00 have finished their meals.
