About Kuromon Market
You can find a market referred to as Naniwa no daidokoro or “the kitchen of Osaka” in the center of town.
Located in the Minami area, access is easy, the market has got a lively atmosphere; it’s the best market in Osaka for sightseeing.
Seafood and fish is mostly what you’ll find, along with meat, vegetables, and fruit shops, a total of 150 shops are lined up welcoming chefs from all over Osaka to buy their ingredients.
Of course, you can eat-in at the different shops (seafood, snacks, or fruits) or enjoy tachigui – eating while you stand.
It’ll cost anywhere from ¥300 – ¥2,000 to eat, not very cheap to be honest, but it does taste good.
And, If you eat amidst the energetic atmosphere the food tends to taste better.
There are about 20 regular restaurants as well.
The market exists inside an arcade, if it rains you will be protected.
Depending on when you visit, it could be flooded by tourists from Asian countries.
Nearby Excursions
Save time by visiting Abeno, Tennōji, and Shinsekai which neighbors the Minami area (where Kuromon Ichiba Market lies).
Recommendation
Walk around, enjoy the bustle, and stop by all the different shops to buy snacks and eat.
While you’re at it, it’s not a bad idea to buy some food related gifts.

Getting to the market couldn’t be easier.
It’s in the center of town and a short easy walk from the metro and Kintetsu railway station and Nipponbashi Station.
