Canal City Hakata is a large commercial complex with a total floor area of approximately 252,500 m2, and is a landmark in the Nakasu Kawabata area.
Centered on a 180-meter-long canal, six colorful, pop-colored buildings stand side by side.
Inside are not only more than 200 stores and restaurants, but also two hotels, a theater, a 13-screen cinema complex, amusement facilities, and more.
The Sun Plaza, a stage along the canal in the center of the facility, hosts a daily fountain show with music every 30 minutes during the day, and a 3D projection mapping & fountain show multiple times at night (both shows are free to the public)
The 3D projection mapping and fountain show is particularly dynamic and a must-see.
