A 50 min cruise on large boats such as the “Espoir” — designed to look like an old castle from the Middle Ages.
The natural scenery of the lake and mountains seen from the ship is wonderful and healing.
The boat cruises around the four islands, and visitors can disembark and go for a walk on Nakajima, a natural island in the middle of the lake with a virgin forest. – the cruise does not stop at the island during the winter season.
Lake Toya also hosts a fireworks display from the end of April to the end of October, with approximately 450 fireworks being shot off every night.
You can get an up–close view of the show with the “fireworks viewing boat.” – The fireworks viewing boat departs around 20:30.
